Rental rates

Perched on the bluffs overlooking the LA and Pomona skyline,. Inside, concreet and bright illuminate come from in 3 floors high ceiling. Several spaces within the building are available for rental and make unique settings for private events such as banquets, receptions, conferences, seminars, meetings, and your art exhibition. Anyone may rent the space from the Museum X, however, museum spaces cannot be used for events that are primarily commercial, political, or religious.

Rental Areas
Front Spaces (1st Floor )
With its large window views and illuminated lighting, this gallery space is an ideal spot for a reception, dinner, and your meeting. Accommodates up to 50 for a reception.

Front Spaces (2nd Floor )
A carpeted lecture space equipped with a projection booth, large motorized screen, projectors, podium, and platform. Accommodates 20 in lecture-style seating as a flat-floor auditorium. Can also be arranged with seminar or conference tables or opened up to become part of the adjacent for large dinners and receptions. The capacity of the combined spaces is up to 500 for a reception.

The Gallery of Museum X
An excellent Art space for groups seminars of up to 200 seated around seminar tables or 150 when arranged in theater style. Also available for receptions. This room is equipped with a motorized screen. The Gallery is avalable for personal exhibition and co-exhibition. However, arrangements can be made in advance to have these spaces open during private events.

Rental Guidelines
Events may be held from 8:00 AM to midnight. Museum-sponsored educational programs and co-sponsored events have first priority for the use of museum space. Smoking is not permitted in the Weisman Art Museum. Food and beverages are not allowed outside of the rental spaces. Red wine is prohibited in the entire building.

Renters must gain prior approval from the event coordinator for music and volume levels; photography; the use of candles, Sterno, or any flame; and decorations.

Renters must notify the event coordinator two weeks in advance of any arrangements made for delivery of equipment or materials. The museum loading dock is located at rear door of the Gallery space.

To serve alcoholic beverages in any Museum space, an application must be approved by the museum administration office no later than 10 days prior to an event. By Regents' policy, no alcoholic beverages may be sold at any event held in the museum. A lease agreement and certificate of insurance for a general liability must be complete prior to the event. Insurance may also be purchased through the museum office of risk management.

Additional Fees

An on-site manager must be scheduled to provide building over-site during weekend and evening (after 5:00 p.m.) events. The charge for an on-site manager is $25.00 per hour.

Set-up and clean-up for all events will be billed at the rate of $50.00 per hour.

Museum guards must be scheduled to provide gallery security during after-hours events when the exhibition galleries are open. The number of guards needed depends on the number of guests. The charge for museum guards is $20.00 per guard, per hour. If desired, guided tours can be provided at the rate $25.00 per tour of 15-20 people.


Reservation, Cancellation, and Billing Policies

A temporary hold may be placed for up to two weeks. A $100 non-refundable, security deposit is required to confirm a reservation. This deposit is applied to the final rental bill.

Equipment
The museum owns a small collection of audio-visual equipment including a PA system; microphones; slide, overhead, and multimedia projectors; and TV/VCRs. Rental charges apply for the use of this equipment. Renters must arrange for any additional equipment needs or specialized technical assistance.

The museum also owns 200 chairs, 10 folding banquet tables, and a dance floor, all of which may be used at no additional charge. Please check with the event coordinator regarding the availability of this equipment.
